A VERY SINCERE WELCOME TO YOU
As I am not inclined to advertise this site in any way, I have to assume that you have arrived here by accident. However, now that you are here by good fortune, it is my (and of course Ham Radio's) privilege to welcome you. While we still have your attention, if you are interested in becoming a Radio Amateur let me tell you about the inner workings of this wonderful hobby. If you are here as an ”Old hand at the game of Ham Radio”, please don't leave; have a look-see at what you can contribute to the welfare of this amazing hobby of ours, and please, thereafter, spread the word – truth is, new or old, “Amateur Radio needs you!”.
As I previously stated, this site will not be excessively promoted. This of course is totally against standard web mastering practice, but hamming takes precedent in my life – the website will have to come second (or third or fourth – depending); the site and related articles are only available because I get the domain and hosting for free and the articles were actually scribbled down for myself to tie together the loose wires in my thinking about these matters.
My dear daughter (no, she's not a ham) advised me that I should further develop these articles for publishing in our National Ham Radio magazine (That is to say, if they find it publishable) - the “Radio ZS” is published every alternative month for league members. It just so happens that the beginning of each article is written in a way that will address issues related to what a beginner might be interested in, and the ending paragraph is relevant to both beginners and the experienced ham at the same time. All that said, and again contrary to normal web mastering practice, throughout the documents I will link you away from this site towards more descriptive content that will validate the argument. Hopefully you will come back for more of these – the musings of an old and slightly crazy hammer!
